February 14th is Valentine’s Day, a day of overpriced candy and anything and everything heart shaped. We as Christians know real perfect love. Love of God through Jesus, his son, who died for us.
This year February 14th is also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Lent is the period from Ash Wednesday and Easter.
Traditionally during Lent we give up something. This year I am giving up my comfort zone. I’m doing it right now. I have no problem speaking in front of people, but, having to put something on paper is nerve-racking for me. When asked, I was hesitant but honored. This is not a step for me– it’s a leap of faith outside of my comfort zone.
Please join me with your own step outside of your comfort zone.
There many opportunities for you.
Be a Worship Leader, a Greeter, work Easy Worship, host a Fellowship table, help with Worship and Wonder, join the choir, attend (or even teach) Bible study, host a membership event such as game night, movie outing, or other activity. The bottom line is get involved.
This leap year, let’s LEAP out of our comfort zones!
