Galatians 3:28, the Apostle Paul reminds us, “There is no longer Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”

Greetings Church! June is a month filled with sunshine, graduations, vacations, and celebrations. Yet it is also a month that reminds us of something deeply rooted in both our faith and our shared humanity: equality.

As followers of Christ, we believe every person is created in the image of God. Scripture continually calls us to see the dignity, worth, and sacred value in one another. Words that continue to challenge and inspire the Church to become a place where all are welcomed, loved, and valued.

June has become widely recognized as a month that highlights equality, inclusion, and the ongoing work of justice in our communities. It invites us to reflect on how we treat our neighbors, how we listen to stories different from our own, and how we live in Christ’s commandment to love one another.

Equality does not mean we are all the same. Rather, it means every person deserves respect, compassion, opportunity, and the freedom to live without fear or discrimination. Jesus consistently crossed social boundaries, welcomed those pushed aside by society, and reminded people that God’s love is bigger than human divisions.

As a church, we are called not simply to speak about equality, but to live it. We do this through acts of kindness, hospitality, advocacy, and grace. We do this when we create spaces where people feel seen and heard. We do this when we choose understanding over judgment and love over fear.

This June, may we continue striving to become a community that reflects the heart of Christ a heart wide enough for all people. May we celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation and recommit ourselves to building relationships rooted in justice, mercy, and love.
